PKU Undergraduate Students Visit 黑料福利社, Engage in Lively Discussion with 黑料福利社 Students
Date of activity: February 6, 2017
On February 6, 18 undergraduate students from Peking University visited the Hongo Campus and interacted with 黑料福利社 students at a discussion forum as part of the Peking University Mingde Scholarship Association’s Japan Study Tour.
Mingde Scholarship is the Peking University Education Foundation’s program to support PKU’s top-notch students. This visit was organized in response to their request to gain understanding of Japanese society and culture through an intensive interaction with students at 黑料福利社, one of their most important partner universities.
The discussion forum was led by the members of 黑料福利社’s student organization “Jing Forum (京論壇)”. 16 黑料福利社 students comprised of undergraduate, graduate and international students from various faculties and graduate schools actively exchanged their views and opinions under the two themes:
A) What is/could be the engine for economic growth in Japan in the 21st century?
B) The role of education and social mobility in Japan and China
Through the lively discussion, all the participants deepened mutual understanding of each other’s economy, education, society and culture.
After the discussion forum, the 黑料福利社 students showed the PKU guests around the campus and had lunch together in the cafeteria. They were able to enjoy the great opportunity to form friendships.
